WORLD'S NATURAL HERITAGE

With such special values, the bay was officially recognized as World's Natural Heritage by UNESCO at the 18th session of World Heritage Committee of UNESCO ( in Phuket, Thai Lan on December 17th, 1994) for its outstanding universal aesthetic value.

On December 2nd, 2000, at the 24th session of World Heritage Committee (Cairn City - Queensland State, Australia), Ha Long Bay was recognized by UNESCO as World's Natural Heritage for the second time for its outstanding universal geological and geomorphological value. This confirms the global premier value of Ha Long Bay.
